			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many men and women have been very successful following the P90X workout program. Just look on YouTube and you will see tons of videos showing the success of others. You generally will see more videos of men showing off their results and very few women.</p>
<p>Is this because not many women have success with losing weight while following P90X? I honestly believe that many that tend to be obese or even just 30 lbs overweight find that they get frustrated with P90X when they do not see significantly lower numbers on the scale. Some will say that the scale is not a good measure for progress while following P90X but honestly, if you are only seeing a 1 pounds loss or less per week while following P90X there is something else going on and it most definitely has to do with your diet.</p>
<p>Many women do not realize that P90X was designed for men to pack on some lean muscle and get ripped. It was not designed to help obese people lose 30-40 lbs in just 90 days; although we now know that is very possible for some individuals. The problem with why some women do not tend to lose enough weight during the 90 days is that the calorie bracket that the P90X nutrition guide places you in just might be too many calories for some people. For example if a woman weighs 200 lbs, then according to the P90X nutrition guide, she would need to eat 3,000 calories to lose weight. This is far too many calories for an overweight woman to be consuming. Actually what this same 200 lb woman should be eating is 500 calories less than her maintenance calories in order to lose 1-2 pounds a week. A 200 lbs woman&#8217;s maintenance calories 2,014 calories, so in order to lose 1-2 pounds a week, she will need to eat 1,514 calories each day. That is nearly half the amount the P90X nutrition guide says she needs to eat. The problem is the discrepancy with the nutrition guide. The guide is not taking into consideration as to the calories you burn through your everyday life via your occupation or additional activities you do outside of following the P90X program. Instead they just want you to take the average amount of calories you could possibly burn from the workouts (600 calories) and add that back into your maintenance calorie count. So if the P90X guide says you have a minimum maintenance of 2,400 calories then you should also add 600 more calories which now puts you at 3,000. But that is not how weight loss works. It&#8217;s all about calories in versus calories out. You have to burn more calories than you are consuming.</p>
<p>So if you want to maximize your weight loss goals while following the P90X workout program, then you will need to first find out your maintenance calories with a -500 calories deficit. Just do a search in Google for &#8220;maintenance calorie counter&#8221; and you can enter your information into a quick calculator that will tell you the maintenance calorie needs then just subtract 500 calories and you are on your way to lose weight with P90X.</p>
