Tips On Losing Weight

Being overweight has its inherent dangers and can even result in death. Ask the 300,000 to 400,000 people who die each year in the United States due to weight-related complications across the board. Weight gain, which is also known as obesity, is defined as having a BMI or body mass index of 25-59. Body mass index is calculated by dividing weight with height and then squaring the answer. Many people have realized the dangers of having a BMI that is above the recommended figure. Overweight people suffer from low self-esteem, lack of sleep or sleeping disorders, chronic fatigue and even a higher risk of heart attacks and strokes. Obesity also depresses the body’s immune system thereby making it susceptible to a malady of ailments from the common cold to the full blown flu.


There are however, ways to beat weight gain. One of them is to educate you regarding nutrition. It is surprising to note just how many people cook food or eat food without the slightest regard to what is contained in those foods or how many calories are therein. This is common. But it can change. Whenever you buy food at the grocery store, read the label and see what ingredients and locked up in the food and how many calories are there. Also search online for weight loss forums where people are discussing nutrition issues and you will get a treasure drove of information on how to eat right and become healthier.


The Internet also affords you information on the right recipes and how to eat the foods that have the right nutrition mix. The food pyramid website managed by the USFDA has a ton of information regarding proper nutrition and should be in everyone’s arsenal in the battle to lose weight. Exercise is off course another great way.

Weight Loss: My Safe Weight Loss Journey Week #5 6 Feb. 2012

The results for my Safe Weight Loss Journey for week #5 were good. Weight loss should not be the only factor when considering your progress. Although I lost less than a half of pound this week, I did lose 4.75 inches. Muscle weighs more than fat. My thighs have really firmed up and that is where I really see the difference. Why did I only lose .4 pounds this week? I believe that the main reasons are that I only worked out 2 times and that I did not do a full body cleanse. I don't mind doing the whole body cleanses because they are easy to do unlike colon cleanses. The truth is that I really like the protein shakes and enjoy drinking them. They are terrific. Although I didn't pig out during the Super Bowl, the pizza was to die for ;o). I am committed to lose weight so I can live a longer and healthier life. For cardio, I did 2 hours of swimming every other day But if you only take the pills you'll also manage to lose a lot of weight. And for the diet, I stopped eating dinner, b/c the pills cut the hunger and give you more energy. Oh, and if you are a very active person I do not recommend cutting your dinners because this may cause some problems for you, see, where i'm from our main meal is lunch so dinner is not the bigger one. Other than that, I cut the sodas completely, those do nothing good for you and are unnecessary calories. Try not to"drink" calories. I also entirely cut the junk food, no mcdonald's specially, that type of food will go straight to your hips haha. Thank You for watching!
