  1. Diet-fads seem to be the order of the day, and the claims of the homeopathic hCG diet is exactly that – a fad, and what will hopefully be a short-lived obsession. I strongly recommend that you not purchase these drops as the drops themselves, as well as the diet regimen they accompany, are unsafe and ineffective. While the claim that you’ll lose one pound a day may seem promising, you’re required to cut out starches and sugars for the first few weeks, something the American Heart Association advises against. According to the American Heart Association, “if you are able to stay on such a diet for more than a few weeks, you may develop nutritional deficiencies, because no one type of food has all the nutrients you need for good health” (“Quick-weight-loss…”). Additionally a “500-caloried diet,” such as the program requires, “is likely to result in a loss of protein from vital organs” (Barrett, “HCG Worthless…”). I’ve seen friends go on such a diet only to complain of the endless limitations of what they can and can’t eat, making it difficult for them to have any kind of long-term change in their eating patterns. These examples demonstrate the detrimental effects of such a diet on one’s health.

While the diet regimen to be used with the drugs is dangerous, the drops themselves are as well. HCG, also known as human chorionic gonadotropin, is a fertility drug and the homeopathic drop version is just a diluted version of the hormone given in the injections. Furthermore there has been no substantial research in the area of homeopathic hCG. What is know is that “homeopathic hCG violates the basic principles of homeopathic medicine” because it has a chemical base (Clark, “Does Homeopathic…”). With regards to regular hCG, studies have found that “There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets” (Barrett, “HCG Worthless…”). As I mentioned before, homeopathic hCG drops and their accompanying diet regimen are an unhealthy and ineffective fad that, as a buyer, you will hopefully not fall prey to.

I purchased these drops based on the favorable reviews. What I did not realize is that the product contains 20% alcohol. The ingredients on this product simply states alcohol as the last ingredient. Beware of this product. Do your research before buying it regarding alcohol content and hcg. You may as well be putting Nyquil (of old) under your tongue. I contacted the merchant right away regarding the false advertising of how much alchohol is actually in their product and they would NOT ACCEPT IT FOR RETURN! Needless to say, I won’t be a repeat customer.

People complain about the taste of this HCG and the seller. Be sure to read all reviews. Some 5-star reviews do not belong to this seller. The real seller who earned the 5-star reviews on a similar item is in the process of getting them removed from this listing since this seller won’t remove them herself. Tells you something about this seller, doesn’t it?
